"Less is More at the Annual Lessor Resources Showcase"
Finding the right wholesale funding/syndication partner, technology solution and/or service provider for your equipment leasing enterprise at traditional industry events can be like looking for a needle in a hay stack. The crowds are often to large, breakout sessions are inefficient and exhibit booths an expensive waste of time and effort. At Lessors Network events, we simply reduce the size of the crowd, screen all participants and place the needle right in front of you.
This event targets a smaller, Professionally Intimate group of senior industry executives with decision making authority. The upscale, professional business environment combined with our "quality over quantity" showcase format, enables an exclusive group of attendees to identify and evaluate strategic resources enhancing their equipment leasing networks.
.
THE NETWORKING SUITE
- Always open, providing a warm and relaxed enclave of elegance, the Networking Suite facilitates private conversations between all attendees. Complimentary refreshments are provided in an upscale "Business Club" atmosphere. This is where deals are made !
SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS & PANEL DISCUSSIONS

Following General Session presentations attendees are provided private access to exhibitors in the Networking Suite.
NETWORKING RECEPTION & EXHIBITS
- Delivering a new standard in distinctive elegance and business sophistication, the Networking Reception represents a key networking opportunity where private dinner plans often originate.
Tabletop exhibits provide convenient access to Exhibitor's promotional material describing products and services enhancing lease origination, administrative, funding and distribution networks.
ATTENDEE SHOWCASES
Open Mic Forum - After we've showcases the guest speakers and exhibitors, the Open Mic showcase invites each attendee to take two minutes at the microphone and introduce their company, products and services, exposing you to important non-exhibiting resources normally overlooked and making this the most productive equipment leasing event you'll ever attend.
The Real Deal Showcase -
Recognizing a captive audience of funding resources in attendance, we close our last day with the "Real Deal Showcase", where anyone can step to the microphone and pitch transactions, projects and portfolios available for immediate funding/syndication. Traditionally, this showcase has featured over $100 billion in funding resources.

Marketing with Your Lease - What Lessees Really Want
|
Speaker | Barry Marks, CLP | Attorney | Baker Donelson
Two factoids about equipment leasing in the 21st Century lead to a single conclusion. One: equipment leasing is more competitive than ever. Two: Lessees are smarter and more aggressive than ever. The conclusion: lessors must use every tool at their disposal to attract good credit lessees, including the terms of our lease agreements.
Knowing what is in your form lease document, how it compares to your competitor's and what you can promise your lessee can be your most valuable marketing tool. The presentation will focus on several key equipment lease provisions, drawing in part on the results of a poll of technology lessees, the results of which are often surprising. You will come away with both an understanding of, lease language and how a willingness to negotiate certain provisions can give you a competitive advantage.

The Fundamental Benefits of Today’s Asset-Based Finance
|
Speaker | Harold E. Blatt | EVP | Bank of America Business Capital
Companies in an array of industries and at varying stages of their lifecycles use asset-based loans for a multitude of reasons including mergers and acquisitions, debt refinancing, capital expenditures, working capital, leverage buyouts and even employee stock ownership programs. In fact, use of this popular financing tool has grown so rapidly that the total value of outstanding asset-based loans more than tripled from 1994 to 2004, according to the Commercial Finance Association. Asset-based loans today are often used in combination with other financial products or services including treasury management, foreign exchange and interest rate hedging, and investment banking products and services. Many borrowers look for lenders that have broad capabilities and can offer a total financing solution. This presentation will address the uses and benefits of asset-based financing as well as Bank of America Business Capital’s leadership position in the asset-based lending industry. Specific client case studies will be used.

Lawyer's View of Syndications
Or some things that a lawyer thinks might actually be useful to you when
structuring a syndication, or understanding the legal mumbo jumbo in the syndication forms
|
Speaker | Edward K. Gross, Esq. | Ober, Kaler, Grimes & Shriver
Speaker | Alan J. Mogol | Ober, Kaler, Grimes & Shriver
One constant over the last 20 to 30 years in the equipment finance industry is the importance of an active and flexible syndications market. The "market" is comprised of participants of varying size, resources and sophistication. Although it is a deal friendly environment, a participant is likely to have much greater success if its business practices reflect an understanding of all of the important issues, including those that are usually embedded by lawyers in the forms, the closing requirements and due diligence. We hope to help you gain a better understanding of the important structural, commercial and other basic issues, and, as best we can, answer your questions (for free!).

Creeping Consumerism
What people engaged in commercial equipment leasing should know about consumer protection laws.
|
Speaker | Ken Weinberg | Attorney | Baker Donelson
The paternalistic element of the legislative and judicial branches of the Federal and State governments is revealed by the complex legal framework designed to protect individuals engaged in transactions for personal, family or household purposes. Some examples include the Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (designed to protect financial information of consumers) and Federal and State Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practice Acts (designed to protect consumer from being injured by generally deceptive behavior). Unfortunately, these consumer-protection-oriented laws are now sometimes being applied in the context of commercial equipment leases. This session discusses some recent areas in which consumer laws have crept into commercial leasing transactions in an attempt to focus the attention of leaders in the industry on the topic before the commercial leasing becomes overwhelmed by the complex legal framework applied to consumer lending.
