Prior to co-founding MHA, Mr. Smircich was a Director in the Structured Finance Group of SG Cowen Securities Corporation, the U.S. investment banking arm of Société Générale, where he offered SGC's clients structured finance solutions to their funding needs.

Mr. Smircich had previously led the successful leveraged buy out of Circle Business Credit, a middle market equipment leasing subsidiary of Xerox Credit Corporation. Renamed Lessor Capital Services, Mr. Smircich was its Chairman and CEO. LCS offered full service structured finance solutions for its clients, including product origination, implementation and follow on servicing through its own service center.

Prior to LCS, Mr. Smircich had been Xerox Credit Corporation's Vice President responsible for developing funding alternatives for new business via asset securitization. Subsequent to the decision to close XCC, Mr. Smircich assumed responsibility for the liquidation of XCC's subsidiaries, during which asset securitization became principal part of XCC's exit strategy.

Mr. Smircich had also previously been a Senior Vice President of Chase Manhattan Leasing Company where he was in charge of tax leasing, merger and acquisition activities, securitization, and new product development.
